Overview

Sylfirm X is a radiofrequency microneedling device that operates in two distinct modes. One targets vascular irregularities, redness, and pigmentation at a deeper tissue level. The other remodels collagen for skin laxity and texture. This dual approach allows it to address concerns that single-mode devices typically cannot reach.

What's going on beneath the skin

Many skin concerns originate in the deeper layers of the skin, where abnormal blood vessels and pigment deposits accumulate over time. Persistent redness, melasma, and uneven tone often sit beyond what surface-level treatments can reach. Skin laxity and texture concerns, meanwhile, are driven by the gradual loss of collagen and elastin in the structural layers of the dermis.

Sylfirm X addresses both sets of concerns through two distinct modes of radiofrequency energy, each calibrated to a different target and depth.

The first mode uses a pulsed wave to selectively target abnormal blood vessels and pigment deposits in the deeper skin layers. This addresses rosacea, melasma, and persistent redness without damaging surrounding tissue.

The second mode uses a continuous wave to deliver radiofrequency energy through fine needles. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin laxity, texture, pore size, and the appearance of scars.

Daily & Ongoing Care

At-home care:

  • SPF 30 or higher daily. UV exposure degrades newly formed collagen and worsens pigmentation.
  • Gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and hydrating moisturiser
  • Hyaluronic acid and ceramide-based products to support barrier recovery
  • Vitamin C serum, once healed, to support ongoing collagen synthesis

Before treatment:

  • Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids 5 to 7 days before treatment
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 3 weeks before

After treatment:

  • No makeup for the first 24 to 48 hours
  • Avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliants for at least 1 week post-treatment
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot showers for the first few days
  • Do not pick or rub treated skin while healing

What to expect

During treatment

A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. Fine gold-coated needles deliver radiofrequency energy at precise depths into the skin. Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure and warmth. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes. Discomfort is generally well tolerated.

After treatment

Expect mild redness, slight swelling, and small needle marks for 2 to 5 days. Avoid makeup for the first 24 to 48 hours. Avoid retinoids, acids, and exfoliants for at least one week. Sun protection is essential. Most patients return to normal activities within a day or two.

Results timeline

Improvement in redness and vascular concerns becomes visible over several weeks between sessions. Collagen remodelling continues for 8 to 12 weeks after each session, with full results typically peaking at 2 to 3 months. Results can last 12 to 18 months with proper maintenance.
