Overview
Fractora combines fractional radiofrequency energy with microneedling to remodel collagen in the deeper dermis while simultaneously resurfacing the skin surface. It addresses fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation, and uneven texture, and can be calibrated from a lighter refresh to a more aggressive treatment depending on your skin and schedule.
What's going on beneath the skin
Fine lines, acne scarring, uneven texture, and pigmentation all reflect changes at different depths in the skin. The dermis loses collagen and elastin over time, while the surface accumulates sun damage and the structural disruption left behind by breakouts. Addressing only one layer at a time limits what any single treatment can achieve.
Fractora works on both simultaneously. Fine pins penetrate the skin and deliver radiofrequency energy into the dermis, triggering the body's collagen and elastin repair response at depth. At the same time, the pins create precise micro-ablation at the skin surface, resurfacing the outer layer and improving tone and texture as it heals. The intensity of both the depth and the surface component can be adjusted, which means the treatment can be calibrated to what your skin needs and how much recovery time you have available.
Daily & Ongoing Care
At-home care:
- SPF 30 or higher daily. The skin is particularly vulnerable to UV damage while healing.
- Gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and a bland hydrating moisturiser for the first week
- Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, and active ingredients for at least 1 week post-treatment
- Avoid heat, saunas, and strenuous exercise for the first few days
- Do not pick at flaking skin. Let it shed on its own timeline.
Before treatment:
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 4 weeks before treatment
- Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids 5 to 7 days before your appointment
- If you have a history of cold sores, discuss antiviral medication with your provider beforehand
- Arrive with clean, product-free skin

What to expect
During treatment
A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand. The device is passed over the treatment area, and most patients feel a warm, prickling sensation during the session. Settings are adjusted based on your skin and the concern being addressed. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes.
After treatment
Redness and mild swelling are expected for the first 24 to 48 hours. Over days 3 to 5, the skin may feel slightly rough and flake lightly as the surface heals. Most patients are comfortable in public within a week. More aggressive settings will extend recovery time toward the upper end of the range.
Results timeline
Improvement in texture, tone, and scarring builds progressively over 3 to 6 months as collagen remodels beneath the surface. Each session adds to the last, with the best outcomes typically visible after completing a full course of 3 to 4 treatments.
