Susan Poelman

Dr. Susan Poelman is a board-certified dermatologist in both Canada and the United States, practicing medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She has a special interest in treating skin cancer, inflammatory conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and hidradenitis suppurativa, and hair loss.

Dr. Poelman's involvement in cutting-edge clinical research trials at Beacon always keeps her patients at the forefront of medicine. She has recently established a private hair loss clinic offering AI-powered hair analysis.

In her cosmetic practice, she is passionate about anti-aging developments including topical and oral antioxidants that not only help her patients look younger but also as she recently published can be helpful in preventing and treating skin cancer. She enjoys the artistry and science behind cosmetic procedures and is most excited lately about biostimulatory injectables like Sculptra and Radiesse.

Dr. Poelman has served on the executive board of the Canadian Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation for the past 8 years and enjoys representing Canada speaking at national and international meetings and as a member of a global steering committee to raise awareness of HS around the world. She is a clinical associate professor at the University of Calgary and enjoys teaching and mentoring students and residents.
