He's the founder and Medical Director of Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology & Laser Institute in Fort Lauderdale, dual board-certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, and, by volume, the #1 Sculptra provider in the United States. He's credited with establishing Sculptra as a baseline treatment for skeletal bone loss prevention, a technique he developed and has since taught globally. Academic appointments at five institutions, including NOVA University (where he was formerly Chief Medical Director) and Universidad del Rosario in Bogota. The term he's built his practice around is Functional Aesthetic Medicine: the argument that conventional aesthetics has drifted toward replacing human tissue with synthetic gels, and that bioregenerative tools, biocollagen stimulators, exosomes, polynucleotides, PRF, PLLA, are how you actually make tissue younger rather than simulating youth on top of it. Fillers, in his view, are a temporary tool, not the end goal. He prefers to be called Shino, not Dr. Aguilera.
